Report an issue

Specific reports are easier to reproduce and fix. Include the details below when you email support or use your current beta channel.

  1. Describe what happened

    Include what you expected, what actually happened, and the smallest set of steps that reproduces the issue.

  2. Check the sample workspace

    Note whether the issue also happens in Markpane's bundled sample workspace.

  3. Include versions

    Include your Markpane version and build number, plus your macOS version.

  4. Attach diagnostics only by choice

    If requested, export diagnostics from Markpane, review the bundle locally, and attach it only if you intend to share it.

What to include

  • Markpane version and build number.
  • macOS version.
  • Whether the issue reproduces in the sample workspace.
  • The smallest reproducible steps.
Keep private documents private. Diagnostic exports are designed not to include Markdown document bodies, and they are created locally for you to review before sending.

Diagnostic export

When a report needs more than a description, Markpane can generate a diagnostic bundle locally and only when you ask for it.

Your choice

Diagnostics are not created or sent automatically. They are exported only by you.

Designed to be safe

The bundle is designed to include app metadata, counts, redacted logs, performance summaries when available, and entitlement state rather than document bodies.

Review first

The export is saved locally first. Open it, check it, and share it only when you intend to.
